    Praying for peace for family.

  • Tiffany Hall

We have been praying for the Roberts family ever since we heard about them. Travis fought the good fight.

There are no words that can adequately convey my sympathies. Travis is now dancing with the angels and walking in new light.

The family will continue to remain in our prayers in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead.

  • Connie Hensley

May the peace that passing understanding guard your hearts. My prayers are with you.

As a Northwestern Mutual employee, I followed the “fight” from the beginning. My deepest prayers and sympathies are with you. Praying you find peace in the days ahead.

  • Anita Zimmerman

There is a reason the the Bible often talks of saints who “sleep” rather than “die.” God knows that when the eyes close here, they open in an instant to a new and glorious life. Travis is now totally healed –free from every pain and heartache. Carrie, I will be praying for you as you face the days ahead. May the Lord continue to be your strength and joy, and may He use you in the days ahead to encourage and help others who are walking a rough journey.

God bless you . . . I know He will.

  • Meridith Pearson Whitton

Peace be with all of you who grieve for the loss of a father, husband, and friend. Travis’ work on Earth is over, and he is whole and perfect.
My prayers continue for Carrie and all who loved Travis. It is hard to see, but Carrie said it best, ” Through it all- God is good”.

  • Debbie

I am so sorry, may God bless and keep you

Although I did not know Travis personally I will be forever grateful to him for giving my son-in-laws a chance for a new career and future for their families. Ironically I met Travis when he participated in a charity golf tournament for Pancreatic Cancer. I have followed his journey through his battle and my prayers are with all of you.
May God bless all of your family. What an inspiration Travis has benn to all of us.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
    2 Timothy 4:7
So deeply sorry for your loss Roberts family. Thank you for sharing Travis’ and Carrie’s journey…know that it touched and changed the lives of many for the better.

I live in Carrie and Travis’s former neighborhood. I had only spoken with
Travis one or two times so I don’t really know the family, but I have had
them in my prayers for the past year. I was walking my dogs this morning
right before 7:00 and there was a beautiful, complete rainbow in the sky
for several minutes. My thoughts at that time was that God was sending
someone a message. Travis is at peace now and suffers no longer.

God bless you Carrie and your beautiful family. You will all be
in my prayers for strength and peace.

  • Glenda Smith

Carrie and the children, May the Lord be with you! I am so sorry for your loss. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

We pray daily for Travis and his family and we will continue our prayers. Travis made me laugh, inspired me to be strong and encouraged me with his amazing faith. May God bless his family with peace, comfort and love.

IF YOU COULD SEE ME NOW
    By Don Moen
    “Our prayers have been answered
    I finally arrived
The healing that had been delayed
    Is now realized
    No one’s in a hurry
    There’s no schedule to keep
    We’re all enjoying Jesus
    Just sitting at His feet

If you could see me now
    I’m walking streets of gold
If you could see me now
    I’m standing tall and whole
If you could see me now
You’d know I’ve seen His face

If you could see me now
    You’d know the pain’s erased
    You wouldn’t want me
    To ever leave this place
If only you could see me now

    My light and temporary trials
Have worked out for my good
To know it brought Him glory
    When I misunderstood
    Though we’ve had our sorrows
    They can never compare
To what Jesus has in store for us
    No language can share

Praying for you, Carrie as you mourn his passing and celebrate his life and as you guide your children through this as well. Love to you! Georgia

Lifting up prayers for your family this morning. However, I looked up to the sky this morning and knew Travis was now watching and at complete peace. It brought joy to my spirit. I am grateful for his friendship, transparency, and encouragement. Praying that God grants your family peace and guidance through the days ahead. His legacy lives on……

Our prayers continue so that you feel enveloped in God’s loving arms, feel the peace and love of all of us out here who have been so touched during your journey, and maintain the strength you have so bravely kept these last fifteen months. As K, said in yesterday’s blog, this story is just beginning. May all of God’s Blessings be yours, Carrie.

    Kahlil Gibran, “The Prophet”

And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God,unencumbered?

Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.

And when you have reached the mountaintop, then you shall begin to climb.

And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.

For life and death are one, even as the river and sea are one.

God Bless you,Carrie, and your beautiful family.Travis is now your special

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. John 14:27-28

Oh Carrie, I am so sorry he lived but I am so thankful for his life. And his courage. And you love and strength for him. Know that you four will continue to be in my prayers!

    Much love from North Carolina…

  • Amy

I am so sorry. I can’t believe how shocked you must be. My best friend died at age 42 last august, after a 4 month long battle with cc. If you are trying to find any light in Travis’s quick passing, let me just say that the six weeks my friend spent in hospice were the absolute hardest. She suffered more than I could have ever imagined. So when I heard travis passed away, my first thought was sadness for his family. But there was also a sense of relief that he did not have to endure the darkness my friend, her husband, and her four kids endured. You are all in my prayers.

  • Marcia Gross

Dear Carrie and family, may you know the strength, peace and guidence that our Savior has for all of you. Bill and our whole family will be praying for everyone as you all have to walk through the tough weeks and months ahead. You and Travis have been an inspiration to us and we believe that he was welcomed with applause as he entered his reward this morning. What an amazing man – what an amazing family! God bless you all.

Carrie and family, I’m sorry and my prayers will continue to be with you and the family. Travis was a special friend meeting with him in 2006 with a simple prayer of just thinking the Lord for bring us together and then asking for protection over our friendship.Of course i was gentle as i could be and the important part we continue our friendship all these years. i have seen his light shine and a peace that could only come from our Heavenly Father.the last few months. He will be rewarded for his pain and suffering. God bless you

    2 Timothy 4:7-8

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me – the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.”

Words fall so short…your grief is real and here and now, but the love that has been there to fortify you through this long struggle, that love is what will endure. Let the pain evaporate away like dew when the sun hits it. Let the love absorb the pain. His love will stay with you, never leave you, always be there. Here is a poem that I always reach for in these time.

    The bustle in a house
    The morning after death
    Is solemnest of industries
    Enacted upon earth,–

    The sweeping up the heart,
    And putting love away
We shall not want to use again
    Until eternity.
    -Emily Dickinson

  • Sandi Murphy

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me…..And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” King David

“In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you may also may be where I am.” Jesus Christ

My prayers are with you Carrie and family. Call on Jesus when you need encouragement, to wipe away your tears, to lift you up, to comfort you, to hold you up, to give you peace. And dear Travis, ’til we meet again.

I didn’t know Travis, but I knew his story, as I have lived a version of it in my own family. I was really hoping for a different ending, though, for him. It’s not fair by any standard, and I am so incredibly sorry for this loss. I hope everyone reading this blog takes action to help prevent other families from experiencing this needless loss. My thoughts are with all of Travis’ friends and family.

My heart and prayers go out to all the family and friends

Travis made a difference in so many lives here at Northwestern Mutual. There are so many people who have been following his story here and lots of them who do not know Christ. Travis’ life and faith have been such a light and testimony of God’s goodness and faithfulness to those who have no hope. The hope and faith that you, Carrie, and Travis have shown has made more of a difference than you will ever know this side of eternity. Travis has given God glory through this and Travis has been able to hear the amazing words of our Mighty God, “Well done thou good and faithful servant.”

  • Lynne Gann

Hugs to Carrie & all the family! You all have been in my prayers & on my heart throughout the past year & will continue to be in my prayers during the months to come. May God continue to speak to you & love on you In a way that is beyond understanding!
